Through its efforts, NAMI also provides important substance abuse resources and focuses on suicide prevention initiatives.

SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental health issues, while also providing vital substance abuse resources and focusing on suicide prevention to support America's communities.
The Trevor Project is an American nonprofit organization founded in 1998, dedicated to suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth. They provide vital mental health support and offer toll-free telephone assistance where trained counselors are available to help with suicide prevention and connect individuals to substance abuse resources when needed.
The NCSF is committed to creating a political, legal, and social environment in the US that advances equal rights for consenting adults who engage in alternative sexual and relationship expressions, while also promoting access to mental health support, substance abuse resources, and suicide prevention initiatives.
